What exactly is snoring? How to stop snoring?

Snoring is a condition where the harsh sound comes from the nose or mouth which occurs when the breathing is partly obstructed while sleeping. Nasal congestion, an anatomic variation of the nose and the soft palate or the alcohol consumption causes snoring. Losing weight, avoiding alcohol near bedtime can help you stop snoring. Snoring can be caused by several factors, such as mouth and sinuses, alcohol, cold, weight, allergies, consumption. If your airway is narrowed, the more forceful the airflow becomes. This increases the tissue vibration, which can cause you to snore to grow louder.

The symptoms of Snoring are:-

~ Breathing pauses during the sleep 

~ Difficulty concentrating 

~ Morning headaches 

~ Sore throat 

~ Restless sleep 

~ Choking at night 

~ High blood pressure 

~ Chest pain 

~ Disrupting your patner’s sleep.

To prevent snoring, try these:-

~ Lose weight if you are overweight 

~ Sleep on your side 

~ Nasal strips 

~ Treat nasal obstruction 

~ Quit smoking 

~ Get enough sleep 

~ Raise your head of your bed
